Course objectives
The course Portuguese Linguistics I focuses on the semantic aspects of the Portuguese language. Special attention is paid to the contrastive semantic analysis of selected lexical and grammatical phenomena, which are compared from the diatopic point of view, especially in European and Brazilian Portuguese. Part of each lesson will be the development of semantic exercises focused on the above mentioned aspects and presentation of a paper on a professional topic related to the curriculum. In the analysis of specific texts and exercises, the student should be able to apply new concepts and draw appropriate conclusions from the observed phenomena.
