Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present basic principles and methods of translating texts and to make students exercise them on short practical translations.

Students gain basic skills necessary for translating
Syllabus
  • Students become acquainted with basic translation procedures and practice them on separate translations of shorter texts, to which they receive individual feedback from the teacher. Throughout the semester, students are engaged in reading selected works, which are examples of quality literary translation from Czech to French, and in reading literary works in the French original of their choice.
