The course follows up the courses of Methodology I and II, Basics of psychological assessment and other fields concerning personality structure and its traits. It is followed up by the courses of Psychological assessment of Children, Psychotherapy etc.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present a systematic overview of psychological assessment metods and briefly mention the principles of their construction and psychometric properties. The aim is to provide students with instruments to explore and reveal human mind.

  • Methodological principles of psychological assessment of adults,
  • Brief overview of history of development and use of methods, ethical principles of using the methods,

  • Test methods, the principle and classification,
  • Mental ability tests (simple) ,

  • Tests of specific abilities, tests of art abilities, didactic tests,
  • Tests of memory and creativity,
  • Tests of organicity,
  • Projective tests, the principle, overview, classification,
  • Verbal projective tests,
  • Drawing projective tests,
  • Handling projective tests (choice tests),
  • Objective personality measurement,
  • Questionnaires and inventories, the principle, overview, classification,
  • Unidimensional questionnaires and inventories,
  • Multidimensional questionnaires and inventories,

Teaching methods
Lectures is based on interactivity with exploitation of multimedial and demonstration of concrete psychodiagnostic methods.
Assessment methods
Teaching proceeds two teaching hours once a week. This course is completed with an oral exam.
