Course objectives
Didactics psychology: This course is open to students, interested to teach psychology on secondary schools. The goal is to introduce them into the content as well as various forms of teaching in respect to different types of secondary schools, learning of effective teaching methods. Course serves to gain an insight into the structure of content thought (didactical analysis of the content). Visits of classes and independent teaching at secondary schools are an integral part of this course.
Upon successful completion of the course Didactics of psychology II
- student will be able to list all documents and materials from which the teacher builds in preparation for the lesson
- student control procedures that can be used for the preparation of teacher responsible for teaching
- student will be able to do and justify the preparation of the lesson on a selected topic in psychology
- student will be able to apply theoretical knowledge from psychological and pedagogical disciplines for teaching psychology in secondary schools - having regard to the profile of the teaching of psychology by the types of secondary schools and their focus of study
Syllabus
  • 1. The status of psychology in the content of secondary education. Profiling by the types of psychology teaching secondary school - secondary vocational schools, secondary technical schools, grammar schools. School plan. Curriculum. Time thematic plan. Textbook. Framework educational programs (FEP for grammar school education, FEP for secondary vocational education), school curricula.
  • 2. Cross-curricular relationships and the creation of knowledge.
  • 3. Planning of teaching, preparing teachers for teaching (2 phases: perspective - long-term, current - direct, written preparation for lesson psychology - its components).
  • 4. Observation and analysis of the teaching process - classroom lesson in psychology (criteria for observation of lessons, protocol on the observation during the lesson, analysis of lessons).
  • 5. Psychological concept - its types and relationships between concepts. Defining and explaining psychological concepts.
  • 6. Selection and arrangement of subject matter in psychology.

  • a) Explication of the subject of psychology and its basic methods.
  • b) Explication of psychological science disciplines and their tasks in practice.
  • c) Explication of the nature of mental life.
  • d) Explication of sensation (sensory processes) and perception; simple psychological experiments to demonstrate some principles and specific process of perception.
  • e) Explication of imagination (imagination and fantasy); simple psychological experiments.
  • f) Explication of memory; simple psychological experiments.
  • g) Explication of learning; simple psychological experiments.
  • h) Explication of attention; simple psychological experiments.
  • ch) Explication of thinking and language; simple psychological experiments.
  • i) Explication of emotions and feelings; simple psychological experiments.
  • j) Explication of voluntary act, will.
  • k) Explication of human activity.
  • l) Explication of personality.
  • etc.
  • Note: Other areas of interest from No. 7 are suggestions for work in seminars, serve as a practical preparation for teaching in their lessons in the psychology of teaching practice in secondary schools. Student shall prepare a preparation for a lesson in secondary school psychology (according to the recommended outline) - select a theme of your choice. With this topic the student will perform in the seminar. His lesson will be analyzed by other students and also made self-reflection acting student.
