Course objectives
The interactive course of Logotherapy is focused on the topic of meaning in life in counselling and psychotherapy.
Learning outcomes
After the graduation, the student of the class is able:
1. to describe and comprehend key concepts of logotherapy;
2. to explain the principle of basic methods of the logotherapeutical intervence;
3. to discuss about the existential approach methods;
4. due to dealing with the case reports to differentiate the most important moments for logotherapeutic intervention and the competence to formulate the suggestion of therapeutic plan.

  • The course is combination of interactive discussions and training.

  • 2. Existential philosophy and psychotherapy – northamerican and european tradition
  • 3. Key concepts in logotherapy
  • 4. Model of Personality
  • 5. Basic methods of logotherapeutical intervention in counselling and psychotherapy
  • 6. Mental and behavioral disorders – in general
  • 7. Mental and behavioural disorders due to psychoactive substance use and logotherapy
  • 8. Mood (affective) disorders and logotherapy
  • 9. Neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders and logotherapy
  • 10. Personality and behavioral disorders in adults and logotherapy
  • 11. Logotherapeutical support for people with various disorders and age changes
  • 12. Specific approaches in existential psychotherapy (A. Langle, I. D. Yalom, P.T. Wong, E. Spinelli...)

Teaching methods
Several teaching methods are used within the course of logotherapy. Discourses – relating to teoretical knowledge of logotherapy and the methods, practical trainings, self-experience and analysis of the case-reports.
Assessment methods
Evaluation will be realized in two ways. The first one is the logotherapeutical self-reflection with the emphasis on the important moments of the personal existence. The second one is the preparation of the intervention plan resulting from anonymous case-histories.
