Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to introduce the students to the selected psychological facilities, their functions, the organizational structure and the legislative framework on the basis of which these facilities are set up and in which they carry out the main work activities.
By passing the course the students will get basic orientation in the possible professional application of the psychologist in the organizations and facilities of the given type and will gain practical experience regarding the functioning of these psychological facilities.
This subject introduces students to the work of a psychologist in a wide range of facilities, which can be professionally applied after graduation.
Learning outcomes
Due to passing the course will students be:
- Better informed about the selected psychological facilities, their functions, the organizational structure and the legislative framework on the basis of which these facilities are set up and in which they carry out the main work activities.
- More familiar with the possible professional application of the psychologist in the organizations and facilities of the given type.
- Gained the practical experience regarding the functioning of these psychological facilities.
The student will be able to develop the required background from the excursions at the appropriate level of processing.
The student will also demonstrate the ability to compare the application areas of psychological practice and to determine their main occupation and differences.
Syllabus
  • 1) introductory meeting and selection of the facility to visit
  • 2) the excursion itself to 5 selected psychological facilities in Brno and its surroundings
  • 3) final discussion and evaluation of the benefits of excursions

Assessment methods
During the semester there will be 5 excursions to selected psychological facilities.
The prerequisite for the successful completion of the course is the attendance of at least 4 excursions and the delivery of a short report (range of 1-2 standard pages) from the visit of each device.
