Course objectives
The aim of the course is twofold: first, the students will became familiar with selected topics of Modern Greek life and culture, and sedond, they will improve their language skills by working with autentic texts and acoustic materials.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will:
- deeper understand some aspects of the Greek culture and everyday life; - be able to succesfully work with autentic sources in Greek.
Syllabus
  • Greek music and its texts: examples of folk and pop music, translation and analysis of lyrics.
  • Folklore: important spring and summer feasts and traditions.
  • Pop culture: crime literature, comics, cluture of the social media.
  • Culture of the everyday life in Greek cities.
  • Culture of the everyday life in Greek countryside.
