Course objectives
The course is taught in Modern Greek. The main aims of the course are: developing basic communicative abilities in Modern Greek, practice of grammatical phenomena and topics dealt with in Modern Greek Grammar II (lessons 9-17 of the Basics of Modern Greek, CEFR A2).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able:
to communicate in Modern Greek simply but actively; to produce a short text concerning discussed topics; to read and understand simple Modern Greek texts which deal with the discussed topics.
Syllabus
  • Conversation topics: holidays in Greece, correspondence, Athens, means of transport, greek cuisine, shopping, theatre, cinema, music.
  • Grammar exercises to supplement the subject matter dealt with in the subject of Modern Greek Grammar II.
  • Orthography practice, independent writing practice.
