Course objectives
This seminar is focused on work with text. Understanding of Modern Greek texts, text analysis and, above all, independent writing practice. The aim of the course is to introduce different functional styles to students and enable them to apply the acquired knowledge in their own independent writing.
Syllabus
  • Rules of Greek orthography – basic theoretical information and practical exercises.
  • Functional styles.
  • Reading of Modern Greek texts, particularly from Modern Greek press – understanding of texts, language analysis.
  • Independent writing.

Assessment methods
Students continuously write and hand in essays. Regular attendance and continuous work on given tasks are prerequisites for obtaining credits for the seminar.
