Course objectives
The aim of the course is developing and strengthening professional competences gained during the observation pedagogical practice at secondary or lower secondary school and gradual taking over the responsibility of planning, realization and evaluation of the student’s own teaching and interaction with learners. In the practice the emphasis is put on the professional aspect of practice. The student will deeper understand to what involves the everyday work of a teacher, will understand his own professional needs and will gradually become more autonomous.
The students will follow up the theoretical knowledge and the experience from the teaching practice and the courses “Teaching Practice – Observation” and “Intensive Teaching Practice – Observation”. The students will arrange with the moderator teacher, which lessons they will teach, will prepare to these performances at classes. Afterwards, they will actively lead the class and will gain a feed-back to their performance form the moderator teacher.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student will be able:
- to prepare himself in all aspects of teaching;
- to determine the teaching methods adequate for the aims and specifics of the learners group and to evaluate reaching the aims;
- to organize the teaching process, do keep the discipline in the group of learners and to activate and motivate them;
- to actively teach at classes and to flexibly react on the work of the group;
- to explain theoretical knowledge and to train the material, to control dealing with it;
- to prepare additional materials necessary for teaching;
- to collaborate with the moderator teacher and with the subject didact for possible changes of teaching approaches;
- to name strengths and weaknesses of his own professional performance and to offer personal developing aims, the way of their achieving and to realize them during the determined time.
Syllabus
  • The basic scheme of the course:
  • 1. An agreement with the moderator teacher about the topics of active classes and about their types. Preparation to teaching certain classes and tasks (60 hours).
  • 2. Personal teaching and catch-up classes: active individual performances on teaching Russian, leading classes, explaining, activization and motivation of learners, control of dealing with the material, control of the knowledge and its training, transfer of the knowledge and skills (20 hours).
  • 3. Teaching in pairs (5 hours).
  • 4. Reflection of teaching with the moderator teacher (10 hours).
  • 5. Sharing and reflection of the experience under the guarantee of the professional didact (10 hours).
  • 6. Share in the operation of the school (15 hours).

Teaching methods
- Preparing personal classes;
- creating apt additional materials;
- leading the concrete classes in relevant school;
- analysis of the students’ personal performing in teaching in continuous reflection of the experience under the guarantee of the professional didact;
- keeping a pedagogical diary as a tool to support reflection and self-reflection;
- fulfillment of possible (assigned) tasks in the teacher portfolio;
- submission of the practice diary for inspection.
