Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the Hebrew alphabet and its origin, especially on the cultural-historical background of the ancient Middle East. During the lessons, the students will get acquainted with dictionaries of Biblical Hebrew, scientific textbooks, overviews of Hebrew grammar and electronic aids. Simple vocabulary and morphological and syntactic structures will be emphasized. Another goal is to translate short literary texts with the help of a dictionary. Another goal is to get acquainted with the different types of Hebrew Bibles and dictionaries that will enable students to acquire a basic orientation in the biblical text.

  • Lekce budou rozděleny na gramatickou a literární část.
Teaching methods
Součástí výuky bude vysvětlení hebrejské abecedy a jejího historického pozadí, základní gramatiky biblické hebrejštiny za pomocí jednoduchých pasáží, čtení a vysvětlení jednotlivých pojmů a jejich zasazení do praxe.V hodinách budou časté diskuze a skupinová práce s překlady.
