Předpoklady
The access to the course is restricted to students of the Romance languages and literature (URJL), but grant permissions may be given according availability. The maximum number of students accepted is 20. The classroom thus should not have more than 20 seats and the use of computers is not required. The course would be taught in the autumn semester.

Cíle předmětu
This course, exclusively taught in English, is a contrastive overview of the evolution of linguistic approaches in France and America during the second part of 20th century. The aim of the course is to propose a survey about the different theories and their inherent consequences. The course thus focuses on differences between linguistics in France an America during this period.

The course consists in lectures of 1 hour given weekly.

The exam is a 4-6 pages essay about one of the topics proposed by the teacher during the classes.

Informace učitele
Christophe Cusimano has published many articles and books about semantics and syntax. His last monography, Le Sens en mouvement -Etudes de sémantique interprétative, has been published in 2015 by Peter Lang Ed. His previous monography, La Sémantique contemporaine du sème au thème (2012) has been edited by the University Press of Paris-Sorbonne. He teaches at the University Masaryk of Brno – Czech Republic as an assistant professor at the Romance Languages department. He also supervises research in French semantics, syntax and morphology.
