Course objectives
This course offers a brief introduction into the study of cultural representations of the indigenous peoples in the Spanish speaking countries of North America. Students will have an understanding of the importance of the historical background, and all decisive circumstances that contributed to the creation of cultural legacies.

Lectures and seminars. Homework preparation.
Assessment methods
Attendance (80%), regular homework preparation and active participation in seminars. Presentation of a selected topic in class and a written essay. It is important to submit the PPT presentation and the essay before deadline.
