Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:;
Understand the importance of thess skills in learning Spanish as a foreign language;
Understand the whole process of speaking and writing from the point of view of psycholinguistics;
Identify difficulties in these skills for the learner of L2;
Know the benefits of speaking and writing activities with a purpose ("focussed writing");
Analyze and exploit texts for speaking and writing;
Analyze some problems in relation to pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar.;
Analyze, choose and create exercises and activities suited to the needs of the learner

  • The problems involved in speaking for the learner of ELE;
  • The oral expression and understanding, complementary skills;
  • Oral language and pragmatic language functions;
  • Modalities of spoken language, Skills of oral expression;
  • The oral expression of Spanish: its problems;
  • The pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar of Spanish, The conversation
  • The importance of writing in L2 learning;
  • Different strategies to develop writing skills;
  • Nature of writing, Skills;
  • Types of texts: formal characteristics;
  • Types of activities written for class. Principles and design phases in writing activities;
  • The correction of writing activities;
