Course objectives
Issues in mediation of information, professional terminology, to demand of information career and existing trends of information science are major themes for the course. Students are introduced to fundamentals, reason and current situation of information science.

At the end of this propaedeutic motivational course, students should explain
. concepts of information, information system, document, digitalization and theirs’s limitations
. importance of a mediation of information and knowledge

  • Theory of information
  • Information as psychophysiological phenomenon and process - consciousness, memory, endocept.
  • Potential information and data circulating in technological devices
  • Information as expression of diversity in objects and processes of biotic and abiotic nature - physics of information, biological information.
  • Data – information – knowledge – wisdom
  • Information as communication
  • System theory, types of information systems
  • Documents, documentation, electronic artefacts & sources and it's attributes
  • Information as identity in cyberspace
  • Artificial intelligence, cybernetics
