Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the literary culture. After completing the course students will provide an overview of the stages of development of the book and its production, as well as literary culture in the current library collections.
Syllabus
  • This course introduces the history and development of the book, its form, production and processing, from the earliest history until today. Various materials and techniques important for the creation of books will be affected. Attention will be focused on the production of books and letterpress in Moravia and Brno.
  • The course will be held at the Moravian Library in Brno on the following dates:
  • 24. 9., 1. 10., 8. 10., 15. 10., 22. 10., 29. 10., 5. 11., 12. 11., 19. 11., 26. 11., 3. 12. a 10. 12. at the time from 8:30 to 10:00
