Course objectives
In this course, students are introduced to Belgium and the Dutch-speaking part (Flanders) in particular. By means of various topics, which are explored and placed in a historical perspective, they acquire basic knowledge about Belgian history and society and they gain insight into current discussions.
Learning outcomes
The student acquires:
- factual knowledge (important terms, names, events) related to Belgian history and society
- (historical) insight into current phenomena and discussions
