Course objectives
The course purpose: to acquaint students with the basic questions of phraseology of modern Russian and to give them representation about characteristic lines of phraseological units. At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain popular phraseologisms; use the information on the history of the Russian language for the analysis of phraseological; compare phraseologisms in Russian and their native language, find equivalents; use popular phraseologisms in his speech.
Syllabus
  • 1.Phraseology as a science. 2.Phraseological unit as lexicon unit. 3. Classification of phraseological units. 4. Stylistics of phraseological units. 5. Comparison of Russian and Czech phraseological units. Topics: appearance of the person, character, work, lot of - few, etc. 6. History and origin of separate phraseological units in Russian.
