Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to analyse/decode and interpret contemporary semiotic, linguistic, and sociocultural aspects of the communication in China: paralinguistic communication; mimics; proxemics; haptic communication; dining; interpersonal relations; behaviour and practice; other specific codes traffic signs, logos, religious symbols); communication taboo , myths, divination, etc.

Teaching methods
Classes have form of lectures, which are followed by students's presentations.
Assessment methods
Students are required to analyse given/chosen sign system in Chinese culture, orally present their findings (20-40 min.), and submit on time its written version (5-10 pages).
