Course objectives
Principles of cultivation of eukaryotic cells in vitro. Transfer of DNA into eukaryotic cells: transient transfection of fibroblasts using calcium phosphate precipitation and electroporation. Deteremination of exogenous DNA expression in transfected cells: SDS-PAGE of proteins and western blotting, measuring of enzyme activities of gene products (luciferase and beta-galactosidase assays).
