Course objectives
Many researches in biological anthropology are utilizing a questionnaire survey. The goal of the subject is to familiarize students with it´s basic concepts and laws. In the exercises, students will try out three commonly used questionnaires: 2 of them standardized for the population of the Czech Republic (Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, SUPSO) and 1 non-standardized (TE-ZA-DO). They will learn to assess these questionnaires and correctly interpret obtained results. Then they will be also able to process obtained data statistically. During exercises, the basic concepts of personality psychology will be clarified as well as legislation restricting questionnaire survey.

  • 1) Basic terms of personality psychology, basic principles of the questionnaire survey, a standardized questionnaire, personality inquiry, legislation restricting survey, copyrights to the questionnaires
  • 2) Personality, temperament
  • 3) Completion of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire
  • 4) Assessment and interpretation of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire
  • 5) Completion of TE-ZA-DO questionnaire
  • 6) Assessment and interpretation of TE-ZA-DO questionnaire
  • 7) Psychical experiences and states, psychical load, completion of SUPSO questionnaire
  • 8) Assessment and interpretation of SUPSO questionnaire
  • 9) Creating the obtain results database, principles of statistical evaluation of obtained data
  • 10) Methodology of questionnaire creation, factor analysis, standardization
  • 11) Factor analysis, demonstration on real example
  • 12) Statistical evaluation of data from real research performed in R software – hypotheses testing
  • 13) Statistical evaluation of data from real research performed in R software – factor analysis

Assessment methods
Credit will be granted on the base of verbal interpretation of chosen questionnaire which will be previously assessed by student. 3 absences are allowed.
