Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to acquaint the students with dental histology and application of the method of ondontochronology in biological anthropology and bioarchaeology. After completing the course the student should have an overview about the information obtainable from the microstructure of dental hard tissues and should be able to analyse histological tooth thin sections in terms of development, developmental stress, life history and age at death estimation in skeletal remains of subadults.

Teaching methods
The course is presented in the form of lectures followed by practical training and group projects, and accompanied by discussion. Each topic begins with a theoretical introduction into the matter at hand, followed by individual or group practical student work under supervision of lectors and concluded by presentation and discussion of obtained results.
Assessment methods
The credit is awarded based on elaboration and presentation of the results of a practical task.
