Předpokladem je absolvování základních přednášek z Obecné chemie (C1020), Anorganické chemie I (C1061), Anorganické chemie II (C2062), Organické chemie I (C2021), Organické chemie II (C3022) a příslušných laboratorních cvičení z těchto předmětů.

Course objectives
Main objective is systematic training of "classical" analytical chemistry for students of chemistry. The course includes qualitative analysis, gravimetric analysis, and titrimetry.
Syllabus
  • QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS & 1. Analytical reactions of Li(I), Na(I), K(I), NH4+, Mg(II), Ca(II), Sr(II), Ba(II), Ag(I), Pb(II), Hg(II). Separation of heavy metals for proof of alkali metals and metals of alkaline earths. Flame reactions. Solubility order of salts and hydroxides Ca(II), Sr(II) a Ba(II). Application of chosen group reagents (HCl, H2SO4). & 2. Analytical reactions of Cu(II), Cd(II), Bi(III), Al(III), Cr(III), Fe(III), Fe(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Co(II), Ni(II). Application of chosen group reagents (HCl, H2SO4, H2S, NH3, NaOH, CH3COONa). & 3. Analytical reactions of sulfates, sulfites, thiosulfates, fluorides, silicates, chromates, phosphates, arsenates, arsenites, borates, carbonates, chlorides, bromides, iodides, thiocyanates, hydrogensulfides, nitrates, nitrites, perchlorates. BaCl2, SrCl2, CaCl2, AgNO3 as group precipitating reagents. Redox group reactions of anions (KMnO4, I2, HI). & QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS & 4. GRAVIMETRY: Determination of Fe as Fe2O3. & 5. ACIDOBASIC TITRATIONS: Alkalimetry. a) Standardisation 0,1 M NaOH solution using dihydrate of oxalic acid b) Determination of acetic acid. c) Determination of phosphoric acid. d) Determination of acetic acid in sample of commercial vinegar. & 6. ACIDOBASIC TITRATIONS: Acidimetry. a) Standardisation of 0,1 M HCl solution using sodium carbonate. b)Determination of ammonia. c) Determination of sodium carbonate in technical sodium hydroxide. d) Determination of insoluble carbonate. e) Determination of insoluble carbonates in mixture. & 7. CHELATOMETRIC TITRATIONS: a) Standardisation of 0,05 M EDTA solution using lead nitrate. b) Determination of Ni(II). c) Determination of Ca(II) and Mg(II) in mixtures. d) Determination of water hardness & 8. REDOX TITRATIONS: Iodometry. a) Standardisation of 0.05 M Na2S2O3 solution using KIO3. b) Determination of dissolved oxygen in waters using Winkler method. c) Determination of ascorbic acid in tablets. & 9. REDOX TITRATIONS: Manganometry. a) Standardisation of 0,02 M KMnO4 solution using H2C2O4.2H2O. b) Manganometric determination of nitrates. c) Manganometric determination of hydrogen peroxide. d) Iodometric determination of hydrogen peroxide. & ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY OF IRON AND ITS SPECIATION ANALYSIS: a) Analysis of content of Mohr's salt. b) Bichromatometric determination of iron in tablets. c) Speciation analysis of Fe(II) and Fe(III) - manganometric a chelatometric determination. & 11. CHEMOMETRIC TESTING OF METHODS OF CHEMICAL ANALYSIS: a) Sample preparation. b) Iodometric determination of Cu(II). c) Chelatometric determination of Cu(II). d) Alkalimetric determination of solution acidity. & 12. PRECIPITATION TITRATIONS: Argentometry. a) Standardisation of AgNO3 solution. b) Construction of calibration curve for chomate and fluorescein. c) Chemometric test of equivalence point detection. d) Determination of chloride content in sample of tap water. e) Determination of halogenide.
