Course objectives
At the end of the course, student will be informed about the field of structure of metals and intermetallics. He will have knowledge on properties of metals and methods of their testing, on principles of metal production and crystallisation and on preparation of metallic thin layers. He will have general knowledge about special materials, their production and properties. He will know basic types of iron and nonferrous alloys and the methodology of materials preparation in powder metallurgy. He will be able to use this knowledge for the design of new materials.
