The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
At the end of the course the student will be able to identify and name all the basic and fused heterocyclic compounds, evaluate their reactivity and find a pathway to their synthesis.
Syllabus
  • Heterocyclic compounds 2014/2015 PS, 2/0/0 1) Nomenklatura of heterocyclic compounds,Hantzsch - Widman rules, nomenclature of fused heterocycles, numbering of the fused systems. 2) Structure of aromatic heterocycles. 3) Substitution reactions at aromatic heterocycles. 4) Chemistry of organometallic heterocycles. 5) Synthesis of aromatic heterocycles. 6) Typical properties and reactivity of azoles (pyrrole, furane, thiophene). 7) Typical properties, reactivity and synthesis of pyridines, quinolines a isoquinolines I. 8) Typical properties, reactivity and synthesis of pyridines, quinolines a isoquinolines II. 9) Pyrylium and benzopyrylium, pyrones and benzopyrones (reactivity and synthesis) I. 10) Pyrylium and benzopyrylium, pyrones and benzopyrones (reactivity and synthesis) II. 11) Diazines (pyridazine, pyrimidine and pyrazine), reactivity and synthesis). 12) 1,2- a 1,3-azoles – structure and properties. 13) Saturated and partially saturated heterocycles. 14) Special heterocyclic compounds.
