Course objectives
It is the purpose of this lecture to give an introduction to low temperature physics. The lecture is divided into three parts. In the first part the properties of materials at low temperatures are discussed. The second part of the lecture concentrates on the theory of refrigerators and low temperature measurements. In the third part the attention is paid to the aplication of low temperatures.
Syllabus
  • Pioperties of materials at low temperatures, superconductivity, superfluids.
  • Physical foundations of producing low temperatures, principles of refrigerators.
  • Low temperature measurements.
