Course objectives
The lecture is an introductory course to the one of basic geological discipline. Students familiarize themself with the chemical composition of Earth and its changes, with basic processes of its chemical evolution and tools of geochemistry research.

  • 1. Introduction, origin of elements, cosmochemistry, 2. Geochemistry of Solar system and Earth, 3. Radioactive isotopes, 4. Stable isotopes, 5. Binding, structure and surfaces, 6. principles of thermodynamics, 7. Dynamics of processes, 8. Fluid envelopes of Earth, 9. Weathering, sedimentation and diagenesis, 10. Geochemistry of metamorphic processes, 11. Geochemistry of magmatic processes, 11. Organic geochemistry, 13. Elements distribution, applied geochemistry, 14. Environmental geochemistry.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Ve cvičeních jsou průběžně zadávány krátké kontrolní testy pro kontrolu zvládnutí základních pojmů a principů. Pro další pokračování ve cvičeních a získání zápočtu je nutná 70 % úspěšnost v testech. Zkouška následuje ve vypsaných termínech po získání zápočtu.
