Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve the students' knowledge of EAP and ESP on B2 level. Various geological topics will be used as tools for interaction and communication.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course the student will be able to: understand authentic texts/lectures on Earth science
identify the main ideas
formulate the main ideas
summarize a scientific/earth science text
interpret the information from the text/lecture
use terminology of the course topics
define the terms of the course topics
classify features
describe tables and graphs
explain causes and effects
compare and contrast using the proper linking
present the topics of the course using various presentation techniques
apply acquired skills in academic English to new topics
understand specific areas of English grammar related to the level B2 (modal verbs, conditionals, tense system, passive, reporting)
