Course objectives
A rounded survey on the main methods and results of the differential geometry of curves in the euclidean plane and three-space is presented.
Syllabus
  • Planar curves: parametric expression, contact of curves, curvature, arc, envelop of a system of curves. Spatial curves: curves and surfaces in three-space, contact of curves with surfaces, the Frenet frame, curvature and torsion of spatial curves.
