Course objectives
The students will learn the basics of electronic typesetting with the TeX system (the structure of a source file, font selection, tabular material, portable graphics, ...). The emphasis wil be given to the typesetting of mathematics. At the end students will learn the basics of electronic publishing on the Web.
Syllabus
  • A short history of TeX and LaTeX. The Structure of a LaTeX Document, source file, page layout, phrases and paragraps, list structures, tables, using fonts. Higher mathematics, multiple-line equation structures, the theorem enviroment. Portable graphics in LaTeX, using PostScript. The Web and LaTeX, Portable Document Format, HTML.
