Course objectives
Students will be informed of the possibility of using mathematical and statistical methods in insurance activities of commercial insurance companies operating in the insurance market in the Czech Republic. After completing this course, students will be able to understand the basic principles of calculation of premiums and making insurance reserves.
Syllabus
  • 1st Definition of insurance and reinsurance activities under the Insurance Act. 2nd Life Insurance - mortality modeling, valuation and calculation of life insurance. 3rd Non-life insurance - calculation of premiums in non-life insurance, mathematical modeling in non-life insurance. 4th Non-life insurance - and the modeling of the damage modeling of extreme values. 5th Modeling results of the business. 6th Valuation of property insured in case of insurance contracts and liquidation claims. 7th Effect of claims on the creation of premium rates and non-life insurance. 8th Insurance company financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit and loss account, cash flow statement), evaluating the development of indicators in time series. 9th Management of commercial insurance, income, expenses and profit. 10th Asset insurance, investment insurance business, insurance solvency. 11th Key indicators of financial analysis as a means of comparison between the competitiveness of insurance companies. 12th Indicators of the insurance market and their comparison in terms of the global insurance market. 13th Diversification of risk hedging.
