Syllabus
  • The concept of landscape, common term, scientific definitions, geographical concepts, world geographies and landscape, non geographical context. The Earth's landscape sphere between Moho and ozonosphere, spatial dimensions, global, choric, topic levels, components and wholes.Conceptual and theoretical basis of Landscape Ecology. Evolution of landscape sphere: abiotic, biotic, anthropic and noospheric phases, man's evolution and landscape. Landscape processes. Integrity of landscape. Natural and cultural landscapes of the Earth. Functional types of landscapes, polyfunctional landscapes. Landscape management: landscape ecology, urban ecology, sustained development. Strategies for landscape use. Geographical matrix as knowledge system for landscape studies. Landscape survey and mapping, perception, behaviour, locuses, events, scenarios. Regional analysis and synthesis. Geographical regionalization. Local and regional authorities, management and spatial planning, interregional context. Generic and specific georegions: spatial organization, evolution, transformation, centres and peripheries/transitions, regional policy.Environmental legislation, environmental audit process. EIA, SEA, ESA, ISA, SWOT analysis, procedure LANDEP.
