Course objectives
Border regions can be seen as a specific territorial type, interlinking the inner (towards the center / hinterland) and the external (out-of-border) dimension of regional development. The relatively recent historical milestones associated with the events of 1989, 2004 and 2011 have had a major impact on local development. This is where European integration takes on a very concrete form at the regional, local and individual levels; more or less it affects every individual, institution, enterprise, etc. The aim of the course is therefore to present, discuss and analyze, respectively. to predict changes that occur in the Czech border. One way to strengthen this territory is cross-border cooperation, whether spontaneous or institutionalized - eg through Euroregions or the relevant operational programs.
Learning outcomes
The graduate is able to have an accurate view of border and cross-border cooperation issues, emphasizes the specifics of the development of the Czech border region and at the same time it can apply the theoretical knowledge to regional development (policy).
