Who is authorized to edit the basic term-related information?

  • Pan-University Studies column:
Pan-University Studies – a timetable for courses offered outside faculties (applies mainly to various lifelong learning courses, foreign students' internship, etc.)
  • University physical education
Physical education courses usually have their own seminar enrolment start date. The timetable for these can be found on the Web site of University Sport Center https://www.fsps.muni.cz/cus/aktualne/harmonogram-vyuky.
  • Term enrolment, term enrolment application
Term enrolment applications are usually submitted during the period between the start of the examination period of the previous term and the end of term enrolment application submission period. The applications should be submitted via the MU Information System. (for the definition of term enrolment application, please see Study and Examination Regulations of Masaryk University, Section 12, Paragraph 3). During the term enrolment period, the Office for Studies confirms enrolment for the students who have submitted their term enrolment applications and who, at the same time, meet term enrolment requirements (for further information, see Study and Examination Regulations of Masaryk University, Article 12, Sections 1 and 2).
  • Registration for courses
The period during which students select the courses they want to be enrolled in for the following term. Registration periods usually start in December and June. Students can register for any course and it is the registration application that informs them whether they meet course enrolment requirements or not. The information about students' preferences obtained during the registration period is consequently used for making timetables.
  • Course enrolment period
The period during which course registration is confirmed. Students with successful registrations (meeting enrolment prerequisites, course not being full, etc.) are automatically enrolled by the System. If the student does not meet enrolment requirements (due to not meeting enrolment pre-requisites, no vacancies in the course, etc.), the student can ask the teacher of the course for enrolment in the course by using the IS MU.
  • Course enrolment changes
Course enrolment changes (enrolment in courses and cancellations) can be made by the end of the period of course enrolment changes.
  • Timetable released:
The item specifies the date on which a timetable is made accessible to students and from which it is possible to make reservations for classrooms in the selected term. If no date is specified, the timetable is not made accessible to students and there are no restrictions placed on classroom reservations. The timetable must be released before the start of course enrolment period of the term it has been designed for.
  • Enrolment in seminar groups
The period during which students enrol in seminar groups (applies only to the courses with such groups). Teachers can define the length of the period using Teacher's Notebook. Provided they decide not to do so, the application uses default settings.
  • Examination period
The period during which students complete their courses. Deadlines for completing individual courses are made public via the Information System at least two weeks before the start of examination period.
  • Extended examination period:
The examination period may be extended if it is divided by, for instance, spring holidays.
  • Applications for final state examinations
The period during which applications for final state examinations for Bachelor's and Master's studies can be submitted.
  • Final state examinations period
The period during which final state examinations for Bachelor's and Master's studies are held.
  • Applications for Advanced Master's state examination
The period during which applications for Advanced Master's state examination can be submitted.
  • Advanced Master's state examination period
The period during which Advanced Master's state examination are held.
