Course objectives
The focus of the class this term will be on legal English. The main aims are to get acquainted with some of the basic concepts in the fields of business law, contract law, criminal law, civil law, etc. and to explore the linguistic complexities of legal documents and communication in English legal contexts. The seminars will combine a practical approach to learning the fundamentals of legal English with analyses of the textual structures of legal materials.

Seminar; Assessment will be based on the results of a test written at the end of the course and a mini-presentation of a particular area of law to other students (introduction to the main concepts in English).
