Course objectives
The aim of the Independent Reading Course is to offer seminars (consultations) on British and Post-colonial literatures with respect to students´ particular study needs and personal interests. Its scope (historical and social context covered in secondary literature), contents (five titles of primary literature of any chosen genre/s), and the number of meetings are based on an individual approach to every student.
Syllabus
  • Independent reading of literary works and their intepretations and analyses in literary seminars offered to individual students throughout the semester.
Literature
  • Requirements on both primary and secondary literatures vary from student to student according to his/her schedule.
Teaching methods (in Czech)
Students´presentations and discussions related to reading assignments.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
A final comparative essay including one or more aspects (features, devices) that are the same and/or different in all the literary works read, examined and discussed in the course.
