- The auditions will take place in room G03 on Wednesday, September 24 2014, at 5.30 pm.
- Students will be enrolled in the course after auditions it is still necessary to ask for permission - but please, do so only after a successful audition).
- All students interested in participating must come to the auditions.

Course objectives
This course is a practical exercise in drama. During the semester a play (or plays) in English will be rehearsed to be performed in December. Towards the end of the semester, the premiere of the performance will be preceded by several days of intensive rehearsals - there will be a "long weekend" at University premises in Cikháj.

Students will cover the creation process from initial stages including work on the dramatic text (analysis, dramaturgy, preparation for rehearsals) to the final theatrical performance (including acting, technical support, design(s), promotion, and the performance itself).
Syllabus
  • - theatre performance as team-work (assignment of roles - artistic "direction", actors, technical staff, support, PR, etc.)
  • - analysis of a dramatic text (preparation for rehearsals)
  • - rehearsals (including one or two intensive rehearsal(s) - "long weekend" in Cikháj)
  • - manufacture of props, costumes, etc.
  • - composition, rehearsals and performance of musical components of the performance (including sound fx)
  • - realization of a stage performance (preparations, technical rehearsals, promotion)
  • - theatre performances (public Dress, Premiere, run)

Assessment methods
The course consists of rehearsals, individual practice and the performance. The assessment will be based on participation and fulfillment of given tasks (tasks may differ according to the various roles within the team).
Each member of the team will write a report of his/her work and self-evaluate his/her contribution to the successful production of the play(s); each member of the team will keep an activity log registering hours spent on the tasks and their effects for the performance; each member of the team will spend at least 36 hours of work towards a successful performance - individually or as part of team work.
Participation at rehearsals and the final performance is required!!!
