Course objectives
The course will be taught by Anne Margaret Smith from the University of Cumbria (UK). The topic will be Dyslexia and ELT.
Syllabus
  • SpLDs and their impact on language learning - general overview.
  • Inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Identifying students who may have SpLDs.
  • Raising awareness amongst peers and teachers and building self-esteem.
  • Developing literacy (using the English Sounds Fun method) - thinking about bottom-up and top-down strategies.
  • Memory strategies.
  • Phonemic awareness training.
