Course objectives
Students will use this class to practice their reading and speaking skills and enhance their critical thinking. Activities include discussion of issues, analyzing arguments and practising classroom presentation and debate in teams. At the end of the course students will be able to understand in depth some controversial issues from the cultures of English speaking countries. They will be able to prepare and take part in debates on the issues.

Assessment methods
There will be discussion, pair-work and group-work. Course Requirements: Attendence is mandatory, students may miss 1 class but not more. Other requirements: 1. Active participation in lessons. 2. Preparation for lessons and homework where required. 3. Moodlinka course activities. 4. Presentation: debate in team.
