Syllabus
  • Survey of the world Mammalian fauna, except Central European Mammals. Characteristics of subclasses, orders and families; only brief synopses in both Chiroptera and Primates, since the orders are subject of special courses (chiropterology, primatology). Distribution patterns and major ecological adaptations of Mammals. Selected (model) species, descriptions, habitats, life strategies, foraging, reproduction. Survey of methods to study Mammalian populations, guilds and communities.
