Course objectives

The aim of the course is to provide general overview of the armament policy problematic. Students should be able to explain and to understand three main topics: 1. armament of armed forces, 2. defense industry of the Czech Republic and world wide, 3. defense material trade and its regulation.

NATO armament policy, 9. Czech Republic defense industry, 10. Czech armed forces armament, 11. Seminar thesis assessment, 12. Czech Republic arms export and NGO’s activities, 13. Written examination

Teaching methods

Lectures, class discussion, homeworks.

Assessment methods

Each week: lectures, class discussions. Students can obtain 36 points total. They will receive a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components: 0-6 points for seminary thesis; 30 points final written exam. Grading: 34-36: A; 31-33: B; 28-30: C; 25-27: D; 22-24 E; 23-0: F.

Teacher's information

Výuka na FSS MU předpokládá, že studenti znají studijní předpisy a že se nedopouštějí podvodného plnění studijních povinností, zejména opisování u zkoušek a plagiátorství, tedy vydávání cizích myšlenek za vlastní a přebírání myšlenek jiných autorů bez uvedení autorství. Plagiátorství patří k nejzávažnějším etickým proviněním v akademickém prostředí, popírá poslání university i smysl studia. Z právního hlediska je plagiátorství krádeží cizího duševního vlastnictví. Podvodné plnění studijních povinností nemůže být za žádných okolností na FSS tolerováno. Každý případ podvodného chování bude trestán nejpřísnější sankcí, a to nepodmínečným vyloučením ze studia. Studentům doporučujeme co nejdůkladněji se seznámit s problémem plagiátorství a se způsoby, jak se mu vyhnout.
