Od účastníků kursu se vyžaduje znalost principů strategického myšlení a absolvování příslušných kursů, stejně jako uživatelská znalost informačních a komunikačních technologií. Kurs má dvě složky: didaktickou a výzkumnou. Od využití simulačního software se očekává podpora rozvoje analytických a kreativních schopností účastníků kursu. Software umožňuje analýzu geografických, historických souvislostí vývoje konfliktu, analýzu manévru, modifikovatelnost pak zajišťuje uchopení příčinných souvislostí kreativním způsobem. Kurs je oproti zahraničním kursům orientován výrazně šířeji a to i do oblasti metodologie a výzkumu. Druhým cílem je tedy rozvoj metodologických schopností účastníků kursu v oblasti zkoumání modelů konfliktů, orientace v oblasti simulací a - ve střednědobé perspektivě - výzkum v oblasti modelů umožňujících predikci.

Course objectives
Students will recognize methods of using information technologies in the field of the simulation of strategic actions. In this case it is especially handling and critically judging computer models of strategic development in the interactive environment. Students will operate with oftware allows analysis of geographic and historical context of the development of a conflict, analysis of a maneuver. Modifiability then ensures that causal context is handled in a creative way. At the end of the course students should be able to use simulation software and its should bring about enhancement of analytical and creative abilities of the course participants.

  • 1. Organizational introduction, building of working teams.
  • 2. Theoretical and methodological preparation.
  • 3. Selection of research assignments, distribution of work inside the teams.
  • 4. Familiarizing of the participants with applications; creating itineraries of individual teams.
  • 5. Evaluation of the applications. Comparison and evaluation of methodological methods of individual teams.
  • 6. Final selection of applications and determination of concrete tasks.
  • 7. Team simulation of concrete tactical situations.
  • 8. Evaluation of the progress of the teams.
  • 9. Evaluation of the work of teams. Selection of individual projects.
  • 10. Shift in emphasis to the work on individual projects. Debate on findings and approaches.

Assessment methods
The subject is taught as a seminar.
Continuous activity is graded and makes part of the overall evaluation. Course participants have to develop their own projects that are evaluated at the end of the semester. Maximum of 100 points can be obtained during the course. At least 60 points must be obtained in order to pass. Evaluation: 0-59 = F, 60-68 = E, 69-77 = D, 78-86 = C, 87-94 = B, 94-100 = A.
