Course objectives
The aim is to obtain knowledge about the terrestial lichens, with the main focus on genus Cladonia. The students should be able to determine specimens into the main groups of genus Cladonia following macroscopical and microscopical methods. TLC methods used to proof the acids will be also part of the lectures.

  • 1. Introduction 2. Terrestrial lichens in vegetation, impact of the ecological factors 3. Red-fruited lichens of genus Cladonia, ecology, phylogeography, determination (tradional methods) 4. Brown-fruited lichens of genus Cladonia, ecology, phylogeography, determination (tradional methods) 5. Others modern genetical and chemical determination methods
