Course objectives
After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to: - discuss the theoretical and practical bases of animal organisms adaptations - survey adaptations on the essential factors of environment - describe and analyse main mechanisms of the adaptation reactions of animals and a man.
Syllabus
  • Organism and environment: external and internal factors of environment, flexibility and stability of organism.
  • General principles of adaptation of organism: adaptation of organism - base conceptions, different levels and types of adaptation phenomena, methodical problems in adaptation experiments.
  • Regulation mechanisms of adaptations: base forms of biological regulation, humoral regulation, regulation by mediation of the nervous system, reciprocal dependencies of regulation mechanisms.
  • Adaptation on the principal factors of environment: temperature, nutrition, contents of oxygen, other factors (light, radioactivity, radiation, etc.)
  • Troubles of adaptation, perspectives of next studies of adaptation phenomena.
