Course objectives
The subject shows students how to uncover the meaning of a literary text and its possible interpretations. Students will learn how to percieve an artistic text and how to evaluate it using different methodological approaches. They will be able to interpret literary pieces as well as justify and support their views using their knowledge of literary studies.

Teaching methods
In the form of a seminar (interpretations and analysis of selected works), students will get a deeper insight into poetics of a literary work. They will further develop their literary knowledge and interpretational skills with the aim to communicate with a literary work more efficiently. They will creatively use their knowledge gained not only in contact classes but also in their individual study of recommended literature which they will be able to discuss regularly with their teacher. The main method of teaching is a seminar.
Assessment methods
Type of completion: active participation in seminars and attendance of at least 80%.
