Course objectives
Exploration of "outer history" of standard Czech language. Standard languages in our territory befor the origin of Czech written literature. Old, medium and new period in the development of standard Czech. Grammars and dictionaries of Czech before J. Dobrovsky. Codification of J. Dobrovsky. Development of Czech orthography. Codification in the "polishing" of 19th century. Attention to standard language in 20th century (handbooks, magazines, institutions).
