Course objectives
The work in the course will be devoted to the cultivation of practical skills used by a teacher in work with a reciter. Main objectives of the course are following:
to express an interpretation of a literary text by the voice
to work with the parameters of a reciter’s voice
to cultivate the technique of a reciter’s speech and his ability to control facial gestures and body language with respect to an adequate interpretation of a literary text.
to become familiar with an essential amount of scientific literature and its methods
Syllabus
  • Syllabus: 1. Work with a breath, setting of a voice 2. removing of the stage-fright, performance of recitation 3. Basic principles of Czech pronunciation, specifics of word stress 4. Basic practice of work with a reciter. Competitions of recitation, the role of juror 5. The right choice of convinient text with regard to characteristics and age of the reciter 6. Specifics of poetry 7. Specifics of prose 8. Creation of literary performance 9. - 10. Work on particular text chosen by student 11. - 14. Work on literary performance (Oscar Wilde - collage of his texts)
