Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
define pojmy managemetu organizace veřejné správy;
understand and explain creating and function of managerial system of organization of public administration; classical form of strategic management in organization of public administration; American, British and continental school of management public administration; trends in management of public administration within Czech republic in comparison with the basic global trends in this area;
use the information on identified opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of the draft framework of strategic management of public administration organization;
create foundations of managerial system of organization of public administration;
submit draft decisions processed by application of modern methods of decision making (eg, modified decision-making process, decision analysis) to top management of organization of public administration
justify need for systems thinking in particular of top management of public administration in accordance with international standards of management of public administration
summarize specifics of regional and municipal management;
set up traditional management of public administration, New Public Management model, New Public Service and management methods usable in public organizations

  • •Introduction to public sector Management (definition of public sector management, convergence of public and private sectors management, education of managers in public administration and their roles and functions)
  • •Characteristics of basic public sector management systems in the world (with emphasize of European public sector management)
  • •Personality and activities of manager in public administration organizations
  • •Managerial methods usable in public administration organizations
  • •Traditional concepts of strategic management in public administration
  • •Basics of financial management in public administration
  • •Basics of human resource managemetn in public administration
