Course objectives
The lecture presents the overview of global ancient art in its cultural context.
Syllabus
  • Global art: historiographic models and sources. The origins of depicting, palaeolithic art. Egypt. Egypt and islamic art. Ancient cultures of Near east. South and south-east ASia + Arts of Eurasia. Ancient American cultures. Bronze Age cultures in Aegean region. Ancient Mediterranean cultures and the origins of Greek culture. Etruscan art. Classical Greek culture and arts. Hellenistic art and culture. Art and culture of Roman empire.
