Course objectives
At the end of this course, students will be able to understand and explain development and aesthetic context of Czech post-war drama creation and know the most important Czech playwrights of this period.
Syllabus
  • 1. General context of Czech society and culture after 1945. 2. Socialist Realism and its clash with the practice. 3. "Golden Sixties". 4. Absurd drama and theater in Czech conditions. 5. "Normalization". 6. The author and the work.
